Company Expansion required Hydrogeologic Investigation and Testing

Client:

Vegetable Cannery

Project Problem

The client has operated a vegetable cannery in Eastern NC for over forty years and wanted to expand its operation. Their existing waste water treatment and disposal system needed to be upgraded and new disposal fields sited.

Solution

An extensive multi-phase soil and ground water investigation was performed to ensure an expansion was technically feasible and cost effective for the client. The expansion was successful with methane being trapped at the waste treatment plant and used for electricity at the plant. A reduction in odor and nutrient loading was also realized thus extending the life expectancy of the plant.
