Upgrading and re-certifying spray irrigation disposal facility
Client:
Town of Fremont, North Carolina
Project Problem
The client had operated a spray irrigation disposal facility in Eastern NC for over twenty years before deciding to send their waste water to a larger municipality for treatment to save money. Client determined that it would be more cost effective to treat and dispose of their own waste water but their permit had lapsed. Their existing waste water treatment and disposal system needed to be upgraded and old disposal fields re-certified.
Solution
An extensive soil and ground water investigation was performed to ensure an expansion was technically feasible and cost effective for the client. The expansion was successful with the re-permitting of the old spray fields coupled with a reduction in nutrient loading extending the life expectancy of the spray fields and saving the client money.
